SaunaGen makes a very stylish and effective line of saunas and,
since they are manufactured in China, they can offer them at very
attractive prices.
The larger units include 12 ceramic emitters with a 96% radiant
efficiency rating, each has a surface area of roughly 56 square inches
due to the concave and ribbed design. Since infrared is emitted
at right angles from a surface, this shape and overall surface area
ensures even distribution of the infrared throughout the sauna cabin
and provides an even, comfortable heat. The two smaller units scale
back the number of heaters to 10 or 6 but maintain the same ratio
of heater surface to cabin volume.
In our tests the emitter surface temperatures ranged between 200
and 600F degrees, producing a broad spectral range of far-infrared.
The sauna cabin heats up quickly but the emitters themselves never
feel uncomfortably hot.
When the unit reaches temperature and the power switches off the
emitters have enough mass to stay hot longer than a carbon or rod
unit, smoothing the transitions between the power on/power off cycles.
As the emitters start to cool and emit the longer wave infrared,
the sauna cabin will drop a few degrees before the unit turns back
on. The transition however is very comfortable, unlike many saunas
in this price range.

These units are manufactured using premium hemlock, which is the
a good choice for in intermediately priced indoor sauna. All units
include large glass doors that give a spacious, open feel. They all
come with color therapy lights which some people appreciate.
SaunaGen
has done a terrific job bringing together the right design and blend
of materials to make a great sauna. The price makes it especially
attractive. If TheraSauna is out of your price range you should consider
one of these. |
